Leider ist mein Englisch, besonders das Fachenglisch, nicht so de Supports are structures that help hold up 3D objects that don’t have enough base material to build off of as they are being printed. Since objects are printed in layers, parts of an object that extend past a 45 degree angle will have nothing for the first layer of filament to build on. These are called overhangs and can create a drooping look without supports.

How to print support material using a dual print head ID3 3d Printer. Please watch these videos in HD Video By Jeff Christiana. So I made this 3d model, it is a hard drive bracket for adapting 3.5'' drives to fit in a 5.25'' slot. But I can't get Slic3r or Skeinforge to generate the support materials for the little horizontal nubs that fit into the screw holes on the drive and the slots. You will generally be in the Print settings the most of the time adapting print settings for the different work you may be doing. Filament settings will allow you to adjust the extrusion rate and the true thickness of your 1.75mm PLA. Printer settings will allow you to change settings of the work space and parameters of the the g-code exportation.
When adjusting the settings in MatterControl, the “Support Material” section may be located under the “General” tab under “Settings” (see Figure 3). The “Support Material” section reveals a list of options that may be set depending on the type of negative space to be mitigated. Go to Settings and tap Screen Time. Repetier host slic3r supports issue (supports hard to break off) Discussion Hello all, i am trying to print some stuff that requires supports but every time i do the supports are so hard to break off, and once i do they mangle my print. REPETIER-HOST Jonathan Keep Repetier-Host is a free software from Germany that will slice a 3D model saved as a .stl file into gcode, the code that the 3D printers work from. Repetier-Host is basically a user friendly ‘front window’ that hosts two gcode slicer programs that are Slic3r and Skeinforge. Slicer3r is the easier to KISSlicer incorporates many advanced (but easy to use) slicing features, generating high quality G-code paths for exceptional prints. Download and use the FREE version and see for yourself! Use the Profile Wizards to quickly set up your printer and materials or download profiles shared by the helpful users on the forum.
The model on the left has support everywhere, while the model on the right has support on the build plate only Overhang angle. The overhang angle influences how much support material is added. A smaller angle leads to more support. For example, at a value of 0° all overhangs are supported, while at 90° no support material is added. If you use Repetier, chances are that you're already using slic3r anyway. Repetier just allowed a way of better visualizing the printbed (which the new slic3r does now) and a way of controlling the printer and sending gcode to it. Like many others in here, I'm using Octoprint on a Raspberry Pi, so all I need is slic3r now. I still have Cura and ...
Here is a long, but thorough video walk through of setting up Repetier Host. Repetier is a complete printing software solution, from loading and orienting STLs to slicing in Slic3r or Skeinforge, to controlling the printer and running the print. It also has a great 3D visualization of the gcode itself so you can get a preview of how the model will be drawn out. If you have an Apple Watch and you got a new iPhone, unpair your Apple Watch from your previous iPhone before you set up your new device. IMO Repetier host is really the best option for Printrbots! It is by far the most straight forward to use: once your 3D part is designed it's easy to load into it, tweak your slic3r settings, slice, and it generates beautiful layers you can scroll through and look at. Also, it is the best one to personalize your settings - and easily change them depending on what you are printing. Firmware for Arduino based RepRap 3D printer. Contribute to repetier/Repetier-Firmware development by creating an account on GitHub. Proper 3D slicer settings can mean the difference between a successful print, and a failed print. That’s why it’s so important to know how slicers work and how each different setting will affect your results. We understand that the many settings on slicing software can be intimidating, especially for beginner makers.
Multi Slicer Support. Repetier-Host includes directly 4 different slicers: Slic3r, Slic3r Prusa Edition, CuraEngine and Skeinforge If that is not enough, you can use any other slicer you want with Repetier-Host. After slicing you can see all extruder movements and support structures. Firmware for Arduino based RepRap 3D printer. Printing with supports on Prusa i3 MK2 MultiMaterial. You have three ways to print with support. Basic supports from the same material as on regular MK2/MK2S, water soluble supports everywhere and water soluble only on the interface layers. You can see all three methods below on the prints of Pegasus. This tutorial will teach you about the unique ability of the Simplify3D software to control where support structures are placed. The software will make a suggestion about where support material should be placed and then you can add or remove as needed.
The first thing to do is activate the support material option by checking the Generate support material box. Providing a value of zero to the Overhang threshold parameter tells Slic3r to detect places to provide support automatically, otherwise the degrees given will be used. Support generation is a relatively complex topic, and there are several aspects which determine the optimal support, it ... By default the server stores all data in a global directory, which is normally located at /Library/Application Support/Repetier-Server/. This directory gets never deleted by updating or uninstalling the server to prevent data loss. If you want to backup your current state, just backup this directory. Start and Stop Repetier-Server Support Material - Support Material Printing a model from the bottom up means that any significant overhangs will be printed in the air, and most likely droop or not print correctly. Enabling support material ( Generate support material ) will add additional structures around the model which will build up to, and then support the overhanging part.
All fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printers create objects by extruding layer upon layer of thermoplastic material. Consequently, each layer has to be held up by the layer beneath it. When there is no layer beneath it (as is the case with overhangs and bridges), the model might just need support structures. What does the Repetier-Informer app cost? Up to now our Repetier-Host for Windows, Linux and Mac and Repetier-Firmware are free since 2011 and will remain so. Since we can not exist on love and air alone and we have to pay our bills like everyone else, so we can not offer this for free. But a small price don't hurt anyone, but helps to support ... The support material settings are found in Slic3r under 'Print Settings' and then 'Support Material'. To enable support material, follow these instructions... 1. Check the 'Enable Support Material' box. 2. Change the overhang threshold. This is the angle at which support is enabled for a piece of geometry. Use Repetier-Host to visualise the g-code after making changes. 3. Choose the pattern of infill. Rectilinear is recommended because it peels off more easily. Two different types of support structures: Accordion support (left) and tree support (right). Dissolvable support. On finely tuned printers with two print heads, the support material can be printed with a dissolvable material that does not tear away from the part but instead dissolves away in a chemical solution that does not affect the main material of the printed model. So, can someone offer up good settings files for the Duplicator i3 printer for Repetier-Host? Today I burnt out my MK-10 heater core, it has less than 2 days of print time.
